tufty time love

Oh yeah…bring it baby.  Found some more beauty shots of the super sexy mystery sofa of a few posts back (Tufty Time, by Patricia Urquiola for B&B Italia).  Va va voom.

First two images from B&B Italia, third source unknown, last from Elle Decor via Design Crisis.

purrrrrple

I am love love loving musty, dusty purples right now.  Lookit’ these couches!  Hot damn.  My head understands that my living room will never look like this, as it is somewhat smaller than a tennis court.  I know, okay.  I get it.  But my heart tells me silvery-purple velvet is a perfectly sensible use of our down payment, I’d only have to turn a few tricks to replace the cash before JJ notices it’s missing…

This is the work of photographer Richard Powers, no idea who’s responsible for the design/styling.

pinch cabinet

This via bltd a few days ago, and do I ever love it.  The Joyce cabinet was designed and built (by hand!) by the husband-and-wife duo behind Pinch.  Costs a fortune.

source: bombast furniture

Finally went to check out Bombast last weekend and got my socks knocked off.  They’re a small shop (owners are one ex-fashion designer and one former sculptor) selling carefully selected, collector quality mid-century furnishings and art.  The products shown on their website seem to be exclusively from their own line, which is designed and built in Vancouver.  It’s gorgeous stuff, particularly the sofas, but the real gems are the original mid-century designer pieces in the shop.  Clicking the showroom link will give you a general idea; a first-hand look is enthusiastically recommended.  It’s terrible to be poor.

Right next to the Ming Wo in Chinatown, at 27 East Pender Street, Vancouver BC.
